Upcycling with your local Recycling Guru! Stephanie Mason Director of Threshold Services, Inc. will have a couple DIY upcycling projects during this Friday's art walk. "Turn an old t-shirt into a tote bag!" and "Make beads and jewelry out of recycled paper!" Stop by the Museum between 5pm & 7pm and meet Stephanie and make a useful item.

Learn the ancient Japanese art of gyotaku, or fish printing. Held outside on the Porch at the Baranov Museum, there is room for 10 participants at each of two sessions.Sign up now for an 11:00am or a 1:00pm time slot.  You don't have to register to attend, but it will guarantee your spot. Join us Saturday, June 24th at 10:30am for a reading of Deb Vanasse's Under Alaska's Midnight Sun. We'll talk about our summertime fun, make a collage of favorite summer pastimes  and have a snack.  Bring a stuffed animal friend too. For children ages 2-5 and their parents. Arts & Crafts – Net-Covered Mason Jars

We will practice a common Kodiak fisherperson's task, knot-tying, but rather than net-mending, we will use Mason jars. Held on the Porch at the Baranov Museum on drop in anytime between 11:00am & 2:30pm on Saturday July 8th. Mason jars will be provided, and you are welcomed to bring your own if you like.
