Bonus Arts-n-Crafts Time!

Join us on the porch any time between 11am and 2pm to make your own fisherman's knot plant hanger! Jars and twine will be provided. All ages welcome. We will help each other. $5 suggested donation. We warmly thank The Kodiak Spouses Association for supporting our arts-n-crafts programming.

First Friday Art Walk

Stop by the  museum for the opening of a new temporary exhibit featuring local artists and their most recent or iconic works. A mini art bazaar will be set up on the porch for browsing artworks for sale and meeting the artists. Free admission and light refreshments will be served. In partnership with the Kodiak Arts Council.

Artifact Observations-Kamlaika

Artifact Observations at the Baranov Museum (a week late this month). No-cost learning hour for students ages 5-15yrs. Monthly sessions give students the opportunity to learn more about individual artifacts within the museum’s collection. In a small group setting students observe, discuss, draw, answer questions and discover how each artifact fits into Kodiak’s history. Free Arts-n-Crafts – Mini Fish Windsocks

Walk-in anytime between 11am-1pm to make the tiniest, scaly fish windsock! We will up-cycle cardboard tubes and turn them into something fun to play with or display. All ages are welcome. All supplies provided. Made possible by the Kodiak Military Spouses Association.

School is back in session for most of the island. How does your family learn? Some students learn at home. Some go to schools away from home. Lets read different stories about school and talk about it. Most books and topics are chosen with younger kids in mind, but all ages are always welcome. Story hour is free!

Free Arts-n-Crafts – Tin Can Bird Feeders

Stop by the museum porch any time between 11am and 1pm to make an up-cycled bird feeder! We will use empty cans - then add a little paint, glue and twine to make a spot for birds to snack. Bonus! Free Arts-n-Crafts – Driftwood Sailboats

Join us for some bonus making time on the porch! Walk in between 11am and 1pm to make little driftwood sailboats. We will stitch and do a bit of hot glueing to construct a cute little boat for you to take home.
