Applications are now being taken for our 2017 summer Film Intensive. You may download the  2017 application or stop by the museum and get one.  This rigorous 2-week course, a collaboration between the Baranov Museum and AKTeach, will give middle and high school students the opportunity to create documentary films about how they and their family came to Kodiak, whether they have been here for thousands of years or a few months. What is your impression of Kodiak?  A salmonberry leaf, a shell, a spruce tip?  Join us to create your own Kodiak Impressions necklace, medallion, or bracelet with “Sculpy” oven-bake clay. You can bring a small object to press into the clay to how your impression of Kodiak or chose from those provided. All ages are welcomed to this free event, children under 8 may need parental assistance.

Storytime on the Porch

Celebrate the start of the salmon season by listening to the story, S is for Salmon by Hannah Viano. Children ages 0-5 are invited to bring their favorite stuffed animal and join in the fun and create an alphabet page of your own.
