Presentation by Jim Dillard

November 8 @ 7:00 pm - 8:30 pm

“The Role of Finnish Craftsmen in Building Kodiak’s Russian American Magazin (now the Baranov museum.)”

This program will strongly question long-held beliefs about the origins of the building that is now the Baranov Museum. Both documentary and physical evidence will be presented to show that the building was in fact built by carpenters from Finland, and not by Russian workers as most historians believe.

This presentation is part of the Kodiak Scandinavian Culture and Film Festival. Free museum admission. Light refreshments will be served.
