Introducing the Kodiak Community Stitch Project!
October 1, 2018 @ 8:00 am - April 1, 2019 @ 5:00 pmFree
Hand stitched self portraits can be powerful and intriguing pieces of art that can tell moving, personal stories. We invite you to share yours with us.
The Kodiak Community Stitch Project aims to be a collaborative, slow craft, community art project that facilitates sharing stories and hand-work skills, celebrates individuality and fosters togetherness. There is a focus on working with Kodiak youth, but the overall goal is to collect as many hand embroidered self portraits as possible to represent our diverse island community in an exhibit opening in spring 2019.
Coming this month-
Town, village and private schools begin their portraits.
